So today (2/1/19) I went into the market, Relief Market in Owerri, Imo State, Nigeria to buy a couple of food items and a special ointment called “Abuja eke” (the fat of a pyton). Literally it is what it says it is.
So I bought abuba eke (fat of a pyton)😳…. for my leg oooo….. to rub on the keliod under my foot…. but can I open the container to apply it… NO…. fear will not let me be great😫😫😫😫😫😫😭😭😭😭😭😭😭🙈🙈🙈🙈🙈🙈🙈🙈🙈🙈🙈. I am petrified to say the least. I know the pyton is dead…. and I did not kill it…. or participate in its killing…. yep, I have a phobia for snakes. Cos I don’t feel the same for all the other animals I eat on a daily basis.
I would rather not have another surgery on this foot. I stepped on a piece of glass a couple of years ago. I had a lot of scare tissue and I was not 100% sure that all the glass was removed on the day of the accident. The xray did not show any foreign body. I then decided to accept an operation under local aesthetic. It was an uneventful operation, thank God….
Let me just say that I have first hand experience of the body having electricity. The healing process of the wound was the most painful wound healing process I have ever experienced. I have had major surgery, so I have something to compare it with. OMG… I suffered multiple and constant electric shocks at the wound site under my foot. Jokes apart, till this very moment I have constant electric shocks at the wound site, which has grown into a large keliod under my foot containing all the nerve endings. I have a silicone sheet I used which merely dried up the keliod and made it more painful to walk on.
So I am looking for non surgical solutions to reduce the size and pain. Let’s imagine I am in a 3rd world country and could not afford an operation. So what are my options?…. well abuba eke is one option. I have been told by a pharmacist (Karachi….well done oo) to rub this abuba eke in addition to silicone gel, on the wound daily.
The problem for me is the fact that it’s the fat from a snake. I can’t even get myself to open the container. The first thing I did in the market after purchase, was to transfer the content of the non transparent container into a transparent container. I did that right in front of the stall. Not me personally but my reliable Emmanuella and her friend Chichi. I just needed to breakdown my fears step by step.
Inshort at first I refused to go ahead with the purchase. I almost past out in the shop. I kept on saying… no way… i just cant…. OMG…. But the sharp electrical waves under my left foot quickly reset my priorities.
Emma applied the first dose in my hotel room. Effortlessly… I have had my shower…. but i just cant dip my fingers into this oily gunk…. I can’t even open the container. It’s been by the bedside table all of today. But I’ve just relocated it into the bathroom and shut the door…. fear… phobia….
I will wait for Emma to assist me tomorrow.
